Obscurant

Words are such fun.  Obscurant, according to my favourite dictionary Chambers, means 'one who labours to prevent enlightenment or reform'.   The accent is on the first syllable.  The adjective for these drongos is obscurantist (emphasis on the '-rant')

The ChrisTaliban are pre-Copernican obscurants.
