Robson Green

This is a very handsome and sexy bloke.  I first saw him in Grantchester (which isn't too bad, and there is to be a new season this year.)  And it was love at first sight.  Well, calf love, perhaps, though one might suppose that I am a bit old for that.  My old reaction to sexy men: not so much desire as infatuation.  Do I ever learn?  Oh yes: admiration from afar, but nothing more.  My heart will never be broken again.

So often in the gay world, it is only the slim and young and beautiful who are desired.  But this bloke  might be 50, but he's handsome, manly .... and incredibly sexy.  Oh, and straight.  But he can't help that--he was born that way.

Majorca Flats -- 216

Luigi stared through the window at the two men on the barstools in the café. Cody was staring deep into the eyes of an older bloke. They seemed very intimate. He was filled with rage. He wanted to go in and wring Cody's neck. How dare he!
The older man was slim with salt-and-pepper hair, his face a little lined with rubbery folds, and undeniably handsome. He looked vaguely familiar. Luigi wondered where he'd seen him before. Cody looked as beautiful as ever. Luigi's anger was quickly replaced with sorrow. After all, it was he who'd dumped Cody, not the other way round. Even taking into account that Cody had deceived him ...
He stood back so that Cody wouldn't see him. Yet he was unable to simply walk away. His life with Cody was over. But his heart was breaking. If he could just look at him again.
Cody and the man stood up and left the café. Cody seemed to be tipsy, and his companion was helping him. They came to a Toyota people carrier. Supporting Cody with one hand, the man wrenched open the car door. Cody turned and looked directly at Luigi. Their eyes locked. Luigi's heart stopped. He felt sick. Then Cody smiled, a sweet smile, and unable to help himself, Luigi smiled back.
A moment later, the car drove off. Turning on his heel, Luigi plodded home, his mood black and despairing.

Majorca Flats -- 117

Jason read his grandmother's email in the internet café, his eyes brimming, trying to stifle his tears. He had a moment's sardonic amusement – he would never have cried for a mere injury in rugby or running. Those were to be endured in silence, without complaint. But the grief of having a piece of himself wrenched out and thrown away was unendurable. He knew that the members of his rugby or running teams would have been—not dismissive, nor contemptuous, neither of those—but puzzled and alarmed that he should show his grief like this.
Jason was past caring. His grandmother's words showed him just how much he was missing and was missed, and yet he knew he couldn't go home. Not yet, not while the memories were still fresh. For the first time he understood what a broken heart was. It felt exactly like that, as if his heart had been snapped in two. The ache was almost physical it was so strong.
