An interesting piece. I struggle to make friends. I don't like sport. I dislike talking about trivia. But I am loyal and giving (I think so, anyway), even though I'm sure I'm sometimes a pain. I doubt now that at my age I will make new friends. Acquaintances are easy. But trust, intimacy, affection, are not. The roles allocated to us by society leave no room for male friendship, as the article discusses.
Ah well. It is what it is.
