I believed that about jazz=sex too, but perhaps not. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jazz_(word) - which is not as carefully documented as it could be, but who knows.
Thanks for the wikipedia link. Interesting.In South Africa, my maid used to refer to sex as "jig-a-jig". No connection, just that words can mutate and shift, both pronunciation and meaning.
