Years ago, my lady wrote an absolutely gripping thriller, entitled Black and Deep Desires. It was set in the village we used to live in in England. She tried hard to get it published, but no one was interested, which was sad, because she's a really good writer and being unable to publish her stuff made her very discouraged, so she gave up writing.
