Edward Gorey

A great genius: sly, clever, cynical, perceptive, and very very funny. Also bizarre and peculiar. Wish I'd known him.  The Wikipedia article suggests he was asexual rather than, say, bisexual, but his work has many  references to "well-hung young men".   He grew up at a time when to be gay was evil ( a time which the Christian-Fascists want to bring back) so maybe it was easier to be asexual.  I know that that's what I did for many years.
