Remember them? I got to thinking about shoulder pads after my lady and I watched
Sunset Boulevard the other night (me for the first time -- one of the better 1950s films) and I noticed how elegant their clothes were, both for men and women. William Holden who plays the male lead had such broad shoulders .... well, in his suit anyway.
The fashion for exaggerated shoulder pads came back in the 80s.

I found William Holden incredibly attractive. Actually, I thought Gloria Swanson (who plays the female lead in the film) pretty sexy too. But Mr Holden can put his shoon under my bed any time.
